This week, our team had the opportunity to complete CPR and AED training with The Oliver King Foundation, an organisation dedicated to saving lives and raising awareness about cardiac emergencies.
Hearing Oliver’s story first-hand, shared by his dad Mark alongside retired paramedic Dave, brought home the importance of these life-saving skills. What started as a family’s response to tragedy has grown into a mission that protects communities across the UK.
About The Oliver King Foundation
Oliver was only 12 when he tragically suffered a sudden cardiac arrest due to Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS), a condition that claims 12 young people under 35 every week in the UK.
In his memory, the foundation works to prevent further tragedies by increasing access to defibrillators and training more people to act confidently in emergencies. Their achievements so far include:

7,000+

Our Training Experience
The session combined practical, hands-on CPR and AED instruction with insights from Oliver’s dad and experienced paramedics. It covered:
- How to identify cardiac arrest and respond effectively
- Administering CPR correctly
- Using an AED safely and confidently
- The critical importance of early intervention
Completing this training gave our team practical skills and perhaps more importantly, the confidence to act in an emergency. Every minute counts during a cardiac arrest, and knowing how to respond can make the difference between life and death.
Taking Action in Our Communities
To put our learning into practice, we’re installing AED devices in two of our largest residential buildings, ensuring residents and staff have access to life-saving equipment. Combined with proper CPR knowledge, these installations are an important step toward building safer, more prepared communities.
Why CPR and AED Training Matters
Cardiac emergencies can happen anywhere, to anyone. Immediate CPR and defibrillation dramatically improve survival chances, but many people feel unsure about how to act. Training sessions like these not only teach the skills but also foster the confidence needed to step in when it matters most.
A Heartfelt Thank You
We’re grateful to Mark King and The Oliver King Foundation for sharing Oliver’s story and for their ongoing mission to save lives. Their work continues to protect communities every day, and we’re proud to support them through training, awareness, and actionable initiatives.
